Hi I’m Gary. Thank you for checking out my profile on VettedVA. I understand that buying a home means more than getting a mortgage. It’s a real estate transaction, a financial decision, and for many military families, an important part of building long-term financial security. I believe you deserve a mortgage professional who understands the entire picture. I’m a Mortgage Loan Advisor with Edge Home Finance, LLC, but my perspective on home financing began long before I entered the mortgage business. I spent more than 15 years as a licensed real estate broker across multiple states, working firsthand with buyers, sellers, agents, contracts, negotiations, title companies, insurance agencies, inspections, appraisals, and closings. Today, I focus exclusively on mortgages, but my experience allows me to understand the home buying process from angles that many loan officers simply haven't experienced. Most importantly, I understand that I am working with real people, not just “a loan file" For active-duty service members and veterans, that perspective can be especially valuable. The VA loan is an extraordinary benefit, but choosing a mortgage isn't simply about qualifying for a loan. It's about understanding how the financing fits into the purchase, anticipating potential obstacles, evaluating your options, and making decisions that serve you and your family well beyond closing day. My approach is built around clarity before commitment. I don't believe my role is to sell you a mortgage. My role is to help you understand your options, explain the tradeoffs in plain language, answer the questions you may not know to ask, and give you the information you need to make a confident decision. Sometimes the best advice I can give a client isn't the answer that results in a loan today—and I'm comfortable with that. My educational background in philosophy has shaped the way I approach this work: ask better questions, examine the whole picture, and think carefully about the consequences of a decision rather than simply accepting the most obvious answer. I'm also a Certified High Performance Coach through the High Performance Institute, training that reinforces something my clients depend on every day: good intentions aren't enough. Details matter, communication matters, and execution matters. And while technology has made the mortgage process faster and more convenient, I don't believe it should make it less personal. Behind every application is a person, a family, a move, and a story. I value knowing the people I work with and being accessible when questions arise—not treating borrowers like files moving through a system.
